TWO TIMES THE CHEER

Grizzly Bear's "Cheerleader" was just remixed (twice!) by our new favorite band/guy Neon Indian. If you haven't heard the new album "Psychic Chasms" consider these jams your gateway drug. It's hard to pick a favorite, so we suggest putting them both on repeat.

Laffy Gaddafi

It has long been observed that one of the most difficult parts of being insane and in charge of stuff is choosing the right wardrobe. Some are simply not up to the challenge, "electing" a monotonous routine of slacks and Members-Only jackets (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, I'm looking at you). Others, however, embrace their inner Little Richard and provide the sort of Sartorial Splendor that some would consider even more valuable than food or medicine. Enter Muammar al-Qaddafi, funky-ass madman and inventor of the Electric Slide. In between administering horrible torture and writing "Purple Rain" this bad mamajama somehow finds the time to dress to impress, and fortunately the internet has provided a way to track all the stylistic inspiration through the years. Check out the Mummer's sweet duds!
Computers R the Best Musicians

In these strange, electronic times, nothing is more important than showing the computers that we respect and fear them. The band 386dx has done their part by translating inferior human music into superior computer productions, so man-made songs like "House of the Rising Sun" and "Enter Sandman" are performed in MIDI with lyrics read by a word processor. Perhaps the robot gods will have use for us yet...
Mongrel Tate

“Mongrel Tate” is a parody of the Tate London’s official website: featuring missing images and the incorporation of subjectivity into an “official” discourse, the site comments on the social and political functions of the museum in modern society, to wit: “If the prison changed you through discipline and punishment, then the museum was a way to show and tell so that we might look and learn.” And “From adolescence I had visited the Tate, read the Art books…on cue relegating my own creativity to the Victorian image of the rabid dog.”
