Sony Buyland
Posted 05 February 2010 | by Justin Solitrin

Teaming up with Hakuhodo Kettle to come up with Recycle Project Jeans, Sony has created a campaign that presents a fantastic take on recycling and reinventing. If you're feeling like Freitag is old news and you would rather stash your things in pockets instead of purses just check out Sony's ad pants... sold not in stores, but right off the side of the building where they used to hang as billboards.

Sam Falls: Nothing Is Revealed

February 04 - March 06, 2010

Meet the artist: Thursday, February 04, 2010 6 - 8 pm

Higher Pictures announces the first solo exhibition of the work of Sam Falls. The exhibition will open on Thursday, February 4th and run through March 6th, 2010.

Sam Falls is a multi-disciplinary artist who builds his photographs through a complex process of large format photography, computer drawing and painting and found material. Attending carefully to the aesthetics and conceptual meanings of each piece, Falls' interest is in creating work that is non-serial and possesses a quality that is inherently timeless. Branching out beyond the digital photo-collage, Falls' work is poetic, reflectional and strives for a simplicity deep with intention and humanity, working all the angles to make art that is dynamic and challenging while also lucid and available.

Daedelus Ticket Giveaway
Posted 03 February 2010 | by Jay Buim

Old-timey Victorian beat master Daedelus has released so many records on so many different labels it was only a matter of time until he decided to start his own label. It's called Magical Properties and to celebrate its launch, Daedelus is taking the medicine show on the road, bringing his new label-mates and brothers in beat weirdness Nosaj Thing and Jogger along with him. Full tour dates can be seen at Deadelus's myspace.

In related news of the awesome, Tokion is giving away two pairs of tickets for the February 20th NYC show at Le Poisson Rouge. To win a pair of tickets to the show all you have to do is answer this query: Daedelus is known for his strikingly large mutton chops. Name another musician with similarly powerful chops. Email your responses to editorial@tokion.com with the subject "Daedelus." The first two qualifying respondents get the tickets.

Flash the Cameras
Posted 01 February 2010 | by Tokion

It's hard these days to be a celebrity, what with photographers hiding in bushes and hampers and whatnot. Actually, with twitter pics and the constant threat of Facebook tagging, we're all targets now. Fortunately Adam Harvey Projects has come up with a solution: this small device, designed to fit in a handbag, detects flash and emits a flash of its own, so all the photog gets is a big white light filling the frame. The Anti-Paparazzi Clutch, available now.
