Colorado art-guy Pictureplane packs a ridiculous amount of contagious energy into this club-ready debut. This is music for a new-age junkyard rave: stinky, sweaty and way too much fun. Drum beats, keyboards and samples run around independently of one another, sometimes syncing up and sometimes creating a beautiful mess that works for reasons not immediately obvious. Underneath all the mayhem lies genuine heart mixed with a pop sensibility. It’s like the equivalent of Jock Jams for all the weirdo art kids across the universe.
